New Pathways
Counseling Services provides the New Pathways Program for students who have violated the JSU Student Code of Conduct by committing a drug or alcohol offense. The program is psycho-educational and involves individualized assessment and completion of Canvas Course Modules. Referrals are accepted from JSU Community Standards and Ethics, JSU and community law enforcement, probation/court referral officers, various JSU departments (e.g.: housing, student health, faculty, etc.) and self- referrals.

Active Minds
Active Minds is a student-led organization whose purpose is to change the conversation on campus about mental health issues. This group strives to provide understanding and a supportive environment where students can openly discuss mental health related topics. Members of Active Minds seek to educate their peers, reduce the stigma associated with mental health conditions, promote mental wellness, and encourage their peers to seek help when necessary.
Membership is open to all current JSU students and alumni with an interest in mental health.

Common Ground Recovery Group
Common Ground is a support group for individuals who are experiencing concerns related to substance use or other issues that have a negative impact on life or are contemplating a change regarding their relationship with alcohol or other substances. The group is an open group meeting for students and community members.

A safe space for students seeking support or interested in providing support.

Creative Arts Therapy Sessions (CATS)
A weekly group for students interested exploring different creative arts to cope with stress, anxiety, and depression.

Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy
Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy has been shown to be effective in helping reduce symptoms related to complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, chronic pain, and other conditions. Participants will benefit from learning breathing and relaxation techniques and increasing awareness of their body, choice, and mindfulness.

Building Healthy Relationships
This group aims to help individuals learn to identify both healthy and unhealthy behaviors in different types of relationships. It also provides support for those who are struggling to navigate relationships and is designed to help students better define personal boundaries. Meetings are open, no referral is needed to join the group.
Meeting Time: 1/25, 2/08, 2/23, 3/07, 3/28, and 4/11 from 5-6pm
