All Gamecocks are encouraged to complete Jax App each year by February 1.

JaxApp is a single application that allows you to apply for over 250 scholarships including alumni, foundation, and departmental scholarships.

Competitive Foundation Scholarship recipients can expect to be notified of any scholarship award by the end of April. An email notification will be sent to each recipient's MyJaxState email address.

Additional Opportunities

First-Time Freshmen are eligible for the competitive JSU Honors Scholarship with an ACT composite of 30+ or SAT of 1370+. Qualified candidates must have a high school GPA of 3.75+.

This scholarship requires an additional application and the following requirements: a completed application and essay, a high school transcript through the applicant’s junior year, a letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor, and a high school resumé. We have included a resumé template for your convenience.

The application must be submitted by February 1, 2024.  Incomplete application files will not be considered for the scholarship. Semi-finalists are selected based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, academics, a strong pattern of community/school involvement and service, and an essay. Finalists will be invited to participate in an interview with members of the Honors Board. Contact honors@jsu.edu with any questions.

JSU Honors recipients receive:

  • Tuition - $5,145/semester ($41,160/four years)
  • Housing - $5,820/academic year (Honors Scholarship recipients are required to live in campus housing)
  • Meal Plan - $3,540/ academic year
  • Books - $1,800/academic year
  • Fees: $1,270/academic year

If you have a 20 - 28 ACT or 1030 - 1320 SAT and a 3.0+ high school GPA you may apply for the JSU Leadership Scholarship.

This scholarship requires an additional application that must be submitted by February 1, 2024. If you receive this scholarship, it cannot be combined with other merit-based scholarships. We have included a sample resume template for your convenience. Winners are selected based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, academics, a strong pattern of community/school involvement and service, and an essay. To maintain this scholarship, applicants must be involved in one or more organizations at JSU, maintain a 2.50 overall institutional GPA, and successfully earn 24 institutional credit hours within an academic year.

The 2023-2024 Leadership Scholarship is valued at $7,500 annually with a total 4-year value of $30,000.

Each year we award thousands of dollars in scholarships to our talented, hard-working students studying Theatre and Film. Scholarships are awarded through an audition and portfolio review process.  

These scholarships are only available for students with a major in Theatre or Film.
