Forensics For Patrol

The Center for Applied Forensics will be conducting three (3) additional training sessions during 2017 regarding the incorporation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control into Crime Scene Investigations.  This module of training is intended to introduce the uniformed patrol personnel to the methods and techniques that can be utilized to locate, document and collect biological samples and latent prints that are often encountered at crime scenes.  This training will be limited to 50 participants.

Training is limited to rural Police Departments and Sheriff’s Offices with individuals that are actively engaged in the documentation and collection of evidence.  The maximum number of attendees from any agency will not exceed 2.  An application for participation must be completed and signed by the Chief or Sheriff and returned for consideration.

At the conclusion of the 4 hour training session each participant will be issued a Crime Scene Kit containing supplies to document and collect potential items of evidence.

Applications for the September 15, 2017 training session must be returned to forensics@jsu.edu by September 13, 2017.

Inquiries regarding this training can be directed to forensics@jsu.edu
