07/02/2017

The Jacksonville State University Department of Nursing is happy to announce a new agreement with the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) to provide JSU’s Post-Graduate Nurse Educator Certificate Program to ACCS nurse educators across the state. This certificate will qualify nurse educators to sit for the National League for Nursing’s Nurse Educator Certification Exam. JSU looks forward to working with ACCS as we explore concepts in teaching methodology and prepare our state's future nurses for 21st century healthcare.

“JSU Nursing is most excited about the collaborative opportunity with the Alabama Community College System to offer a Certificate in Nursing Education to interested nursing faculty,” said Dr. Christie Shelton, Dean of the School of Health Professions and Wellness. “This certificate will help nursing faculty meet the requirement to sit for the Certified Nurse Educator Exam through the National League for Nursing. JSU Nursing is well-known for producing and training effective teachers in various disciplines, especially nursing. Our department has experienced positive student outcomes as a result of training nurse educators in accordance with the coursework we deliver and are excited to share this approach with nursing faculty of ACCS.”
