Civic Chorale Opens Fall Season

08/28/2017

The Calhoun County Civic Chorale kicked off its fall season on Aug. 28 and is looking for new members.

The chorale is one of six choral ensembles sponsored by the David L. Walters Department of Music at Jacksonville State University. It is directed by Dr. Patricia Corbin, director of choral activities, and features members from the community and JSU faculty, staff and students.

The chorale welcomes singers who have voices that can blend well with others, are able to learn their individual vocal part from written music, and enjoy singing classical choral masterworks. Dues are $25 plus the cost of music. College credit is also available for JSU students.

The group is now rehearsing Franz Schubert’s Mass in G Major and other works for its Winter Concert, to be performed Dec. 3 at the Church of Saint Michael and All Angels in Anniston, Ala. It rehearses every Monday evening, following the JSU calendar up until the final performance.
