08/28/2017

JSU's Little River Canyon Center and co-sponsor Chick-fil-a will present Country Rocks at the Canyon Center in Fort Payne on Sept. 2, featuring Nashville’s Aberdeen Green and regional talent American Hope. Special guests from Chris Robert’s School of Music will kick off the event showcasing some of Fort Payne’s finest musicians.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. Admission is a suggested $5 donation. This Labor Day weekend event will have a patriotic theme and area first responders will be recognized. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

“We are excited to welcome Aberdeen Green to the Canyon,” said Pete Conroy, director of Little River Canyon Center. “And, of course, American Hope has a special place in our hearts with roots on Lookout Mountain. These bands are going places!”

Aberdeen Green has performed on many stages, including that of the 91st National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Presidents Park in Washington, DC. They have opened for artists such as Aretha Franklin, Maria Carey, Train, Janelle Monae, Renee Fleming and The Avett Brothers. They have also shared the roster with several nationally acclaimed country artists such as Trace Adkins, Wynonna Judd, Craig Morgan, Montgomery Gentry, Neal McMcoy and Lonestar. They are currently recording an album in Nashville with father and son production duo Nick and Paul Worley.

American Hope is one of the South’s hottest new country acts. Made up of three young brothers - Jameson, Jadyn, and Kenyon Hope - they are quickly making themselves known all over the US with their energetic southern country-rock style of music. With roots in Alabama and Georgia, not only are the brothers known for their tight sibling harmony but also for their talent on their instruments. They have opened for Randy Owen of country super group Alabama numerous times at his "Fandemonium on the Farm" fan appreciation events, as well as his Dixieland Delight Cattlemen Events. They have also performed with Lee Greenwood and opened for Lisa Kelly, former lead singer of multi-platinum recording group, Celtic Woman.
