Kansai Gaidai University is a private university located in Hirakata City, Osaka, Japan. The university has about 11,000 students and offers programs in International Professional Development, Education, English, Spanish, and Global Communication and Language and more! It also known for its Asian Studies Program which is a one-year or one-semester program to accommodate international students wishing to pursue Japanese language and Japanese/Asian Studies.

Class Credit (Fall/Spring)

Undergraduate students can take a minimum of 12 hours of courses at Kansai in their Asian Studies Program.  There are a wide variety of subjects in which students can take courses:  Japanese language, Art, Communication, Cultural Studies, Economics, History, Law, Literature, Media Studies, Political Science, Religion, and Business Administration.  The Japanese language course is mandatory, but there are also Japanese language elective courses one can take.  Graduate students may not join this program.

Class Credit (Summer)

Undergraduate students who enroll in the 6-week program to Kansai-Gaidai University in Japan will receive 8 hours in Japanese language and 2 hours in Introduction to Asian Studies.  Only students who have had one semester of college-level Japanese or its equivalent can apply for this program.

Enrollment

Students must enroll with the name listed on their passports.
