Scholarships and Aid

Need money for college? Jacksonville State University offers scholarships for qualified community college transfer students! There are two scholarships available:

JSU Community College Transfer Presidential Scholarship Requirements

  • Any associates degree earned with a 3.5 GPA (JSU calculated) or higher will receive a JSU scholarship* of $3,000 per semester for four semesters.  Students must maintain a 3.25 at JSU for this scholarship, upper division nursing students must maintain a 3.0.  Students must take at least 12 credit hours each semester.
  • Any associates degree earned with a 3.0 - 3.49 GPA (JSU calculated) will receive a JSU scholarship* of $1,500 per semester for four semesters.  Students must maintain a 3.25 at JSU for this scholarship, upper division nursing students must maintain a 3.0.  Students must take at least 12 credit hours each semester.

*Students cannot have previously attended JSU or any other four-year institution as a full-time student. 

*Please note that scholarships are awarded conditionally.  You must send in a final copy of your college transcripts with your degree posted on it in order to unconditionally receive the award.

*Scholarships are subject to availability of funding. 

How to Apply for a Community College Transfer Presidential Scholarship

  • Visit JSU's Scholarship Manager site at this address: https://jsu.scholarships.ngwebsolutions.com
  • Where it reads "Log In Here," login using your MyJSU username and password
  • Once logged in, select My Tasks. If you have not already completed the transfer scholarship application for Spring 2018, it should be listed.
  • Fill out your application as instructed. Once your application is completed, it can be viewed under completed tasks.

Scholarship Application Deadline Dates


Spring 2018:
 Application now available! Deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2017.
Summer 2018 and Fall 2018: Available December 1, 2017 through 11:59 p.m. on February 28, 2018.

Other Forms of Financial Aid


Many of our students are on some form of financial aid. To determine your eligibility, you'll need to complete your free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Once you have completed your FAFSA and have supplied the required documents JSU's Office of Student Financial Services will be happy to help you explore your financial options.
