COVID-19 Update: September 16, 2021
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
This Saturday marks the deadline to get your first COVID-19 vaccination – if you are taking part in a two-shot protocol like Moderna and Pfizer – and still have time to complete your vaccine series before our incentive deadline on Oct. 15.
Luckily, there is a great opportunity to get vaccinated on campus this weekend. The Alabama Department of Public Health will be on campus administering the Pfizer vaccine from around 3:30 p.m. to one hour after the football game (which kicks off at 6:30 p.m.). To get your vaccine, stop by the tent located in front of JSU Stadium, on the east side of the parking lot, across the street from The Red Rooster.
In addition to the $100 incentive JSU is offering to students, faculty and staff who compete the vaccine series by Oct. 15, anyone who gets vaccinated on Saturday will immediately receive a $75 gift card to the campus bookstore, redeemable inside the stadium at the bookstore’s fan booth, online at shopjsugamecocks.com or in-store at the TMB (open 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on game days).
As our region continues to flatten the Delta Variant curve, COVID-19 testing is critical. Please be aware of the following:
Have a safe and enjoyable football weekend, and please help Kick COVID!

- Vaccinated individuals are encouraged to get a test 3-5 days after exposure.
- Unvaccinated individuals are encouraged to get a test 7 days after exposure if asymptomatic
- Symptomatic individuals are encouraged to seek a test immediately
