02/27/2025
Jacksonville State University student Miller Small has been appointed to the Southeastern Greek Leadership Association (SGLA) Student Advisory Board, a prestigious role that allows him to help shape the future of Greek life across the region.
A sophomore majoring in Emergency Management with a minor in Strategic Communications, Small has been an active leader in the Greek community. He currently serves as the Vice President of Public Relations for both the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Interfraternity Council (IFC), as well as the Chaplain for Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp). Through these roles, he has worked to enhance communication, build community engagement, and showcase the positive impact of Greek life on students.
“I applied for this position because I want to help increase awareness of the good that Greek life can do for students,” Small said. “Greek organizations provide leadership opportunities, a sense of belonging, and ways to give back to the community. Serving on the SGLA Student Advisory Board is a chance to bring new ideas back to Jacksonville State and strengthen our Greek community.”
In addition to his leadership in Greek life, Small has held key roles in campus organizations, including House Floor Leader for Collegiate Legislators and SGA Student Senator. His passion for student engagement and organizational growth makes him a strong advocate for the values of fraternity life.
Small looks forward to representing Jacksonville State University on the SGLA Student Advisory Board and using this experience to further strengthen the campus Greek community.
Miller will be the third student from Jacksonville State to serve on the board. Jax State has had representation of this board for three consecutive years.
