Andrew is an Assistant Professor in the Exercise Science and Wellness program and is certified as an Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). He serves as an academic advisor for ESW students and is a member of the Faculty Affairs Committee and Curriculum Committee. He also serves as a member of the JSU COVID-19 Epidemiology Team. Andrew leads student preparation experiences for the ACSM certification exams.
Andrew is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and now lives outside of Atlanta, GA with his fiancé (Catherine), daughter (Genevieve), and beagle (Tyson). He enjoys running and resistance training, reading, playing guitar and video games, and watching most live sports.
Academic Research/Interest:
Current research investigates the effects of Cordyceps supplementation on oxygen kinetics and VO2max. Other interests are exercise as a treatment for chronic disease, nutrition and its effects on the exercise response, and behavioral considerations related to participation in physical activity.
