Kelsey is an Assistant Professor of Health and Physical Education within the Department of Kinesiology. She earned her doctoral degree from the University of Alabama in 2018, focusing on teacher-student interactions within the physical education setting. She also holds a Certificate in Effective College Instruction and comes to JSU with prior university and K-12 teaching experience. Current leadership and service activities include leading qualitative data evaluation for the Girls Empowering Movement (GEM) and serving as Chair of the Measurement and Evaluation SIG of SHAPE America. Kelsey’s research interests include teacher-student interactions, socialization of preservice and inservice physical educators, and reflective practices.
