The Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) degree provides the foundationalknowledge of public health issues and systems, basic skills in research and analysis, and an ability to implement health programs and interventions that promote health and wellbeing in communities over the lifecourse. .
The Jax State Bachelor of Science in Public Health curriculum provides coursework in public health theory and practice, including introductions to epidemiology, health promotion, health policy, and environmental health as well as general education requirements and some electives in related fields. The Jax State BSPH program prepares graduates to advocate for the protection and promotion of public health at all levels of society. The Bachelor of Science in Public Health program is a new addition to JSU further advancing students’ potential in the increasingly demanding field of health and wellness.
This degree requires 120 total semester hours and a 400 hour professional practicum. No minor required. Program candidates must have an earned overall grade point average of 2.50 based upon a 4.0 scale for graduation.
