Prior to her position as Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics at Jacksonville State University, Rhonda held numerous positions within the Georgia Department of Public Health. Rhonda began in public health as a direct care nutritionist where she excelled in provision of quality nutrition services and was subsequently promoted to Nutrition Services Director for a ten-county public health district. After obtaining an MPH from Emory University, Rhonda began her career in dietetics education as the Director of the Georgia Department of Public Health Dietetic Internship where, during her tenure, she graduated over 100 dietetic interns in an effort to increase the competence of the Georgia Public Health nutrition workforce and overall increase in access to nutrition services for the population. As a Registered Dietitian, Rhonda is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Nutrition and Dietetics Educators and Preceptors group, and Integrative and Functional Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group. Rhonda has been a peer program reviewer for the Accreditation Council on Nutrition and Dietetics since 2013. She has previously held professional organization leadership positions in the Georgia Public Health Association and the Northwest Georgia Dietetic Association. She has served on advisory boards for Didactic Programs in Dietetics at the University of Georgia and Georgia Southern University. In addition to her work at JSU, Rhonda holds PRN positions as a clinical dietitian at two acute care hospitals. Rhonda has a passion for mentorship and educating and guiding dietetics professionals of tomorrow.
